Step 1 Pick Your Photo
You can use any photo you'd like - but remember that the better the photo, the better the finished photo blanket. We have a few suggestions, listed below:
- SIZE: Any photo will work. We prefer photos larger than 5x7. For digital photographs, please make sure that they were taken by a 1 megapixel or better camera at 250 dpi or larger. If you have any questions about your photo, contact us and we can preview it for you to see if it would make a great photo gift.
- CONTRAST: A high contrast photo works the best. A black dog on a black couch in a dark room will not yield the best results. Conversely, a white dog in the snow will not work well, either. If your main subject is brightly lit and the background is somewhat dark, the results will be brilliant! Please avoid dark shadows on the face or subject.
- FOCUS: Make sure your subject is sharp. The better the focus, the better the final piece will be.
- COLOR: We can use black and white or color.
- COMPOSITION: Keep it simple. Make sure that your subject occupies 60-80% of the photo. This is not an absolute necessity, but it will make for a better finished piece.
- Creative cropping of your photo will result in a better composition, and ultimately, a better finished piece. If you would like us to crop your photo to best show the subject matter, please indicate so when you place your order.
- We suggest that you save your photo to the desktop of your computer, or another place that is easy for you to find. We recommend saving your image as a JPEG or TIFF - and your camera will usually save the image in an acceptable format.
Step 2 Order Online
If you're going to use this website to complete your order, go to the products page, select your product, upload your photo file and fill out the online form.
When you see the "Thank You" message after you submit the photo and the form, you need to do nothing else but sit back and receive your new heirloom! You can rest assured that we're hard at work weaving a great new personalized photo blanket just for you!
Step 3 Or, Send Your Photo via mail
If you'd rather mail the photo to us via the US Post Office or another means, fill out the online order form in it's entirety and print a copy of your receipt and place it with your photo in an envelope. Please be sure to place cardboard in the envelope in order to help the contents remain safe during transit.
Please note that if you decide to mail in your order instead of using the online serivce, the time required to receive and process your order will be longer.

Step 4 Receive Your New Heirloom!
In about 4 weeks, (probably less) you'll be receiving your new, 100% cotton heirloom. If you do not receive your personalized photo blanket after 4 weeks, please contact us, and we'll track your shipment.
All photo blankets are 100% cotton, and highly durable. The colors won't fade like printed materials, but we do suggest that you machine wash on gentle or hand wash, and tumble dry on low. You can expect a lifetime of beauty and vibrant colors from your photo blanket heirloom.
